CAMP FRANK G. LUMPKIN (FGL) Camp Frank G. Lumpkin Jr. is a part of the Chattahoochee Council Scout Reservation. It is located approximately 15 miles northwest of LaGrange, Georgia, on beautiful West Point lake. The camp is 900 acres with over 26 miles of lakeshore it sits on Lake West Point with direct access to the Chattahoochee River. It is the location of our annual summer camp program and is available for year-round use by Scouting units. It is also available for use by outside organizations for corporate retreats, youth retreats, or community organizations. | CAMP JAMES G. GALLANT Camp James G. Gallant, our first camping facility on West Point Lake, was dedicated to the memory of James G. Gallant on April 16, 1983, during the first spring camporee to be held on the property. A dream of Mr. Gallant and Abe Tipton, it has become a favorite short term camping facility with Scouts and Scouters throughout the Council and has hosted numerous camporees, council events, and is home of the annual Freeze-O-Ree held on the fourth weekend of January. The camp consists of over 300 acres with 28 campsites and has bathroom facilities. | CAMP PINE MOUNTAIN Situated on 35 acres, Camp Pine Mountain is open to Troops, Packs, and non-scout organizations. Established in 1923, Camp Pine Mountain has a rich heritage of supporting Scouting. With cabins named after area communities, facilities include cabins with bunks, shower house, a large activity field, Recreation Hall, multiple picnic tables, potable water, flushing latrines, fishing, archery range, and bb rifle range. The camp is home to Fall Family camp involving over 1,500 scouts and adults. Camp Pine Mountain is located 20 minutes from Callaway Gardens and 20 minutes from Pine Mountain Hiking trails. |
